Friends Jan Giles and Sue Pedersen hamming it up, as they set up advertising at the library for
the Friends of the Tewskbury Library Comedy Night. The event is Saturday, November 4, 2023.
It is being staged at the Tewksbury Elks, 777 South Street. Tickets are $25/person, 18+. Tickets
can be purchased on the Friends website. You can scan a QR code on any of the Comedy Night
advertising, or go directly to the Friends website. The library’s website also has a link to the
Friends website.
Doors open at 7 pm, and the comics go on stage at 8 pm. The Elks do not allow any outside
beverages to be brought into their hall. There will be a cash bar, and there is an ATM on site.
The Elks do have a fun and interesting policy, everyone is invited to bring their own food.
I attended an event at the Elks last spring, and the food was AMAZING. The table next to me
had a butcher block, and a slab of ribs! Come early to enjoy and share dinner, and snacks, and
a beverage.
Joe Motrucinski will be the opening comic. Motro was a work colleague of mine, this is how
this idea was instigated. Bob Sheehy will be one of two headliners. He has performed in and
around Boston since 1992. Think there might be TEWKSBURY?! jokes? The featured headliner
will be Jerry Caruso, a stand up comedian, actor, and motivational speaker. Jerry is co-founder
of “Comics for a Cure”. Jerry has a big heart, provides big laughs, and enjoys performing at
fundraising events.
Proceeds from the Friends Comedy Night will be designated back to the Tewksbury Public
Library. The Friends finance all community and cultural events that the library offers for
children, teens, and adults. Mark November 4 on your calendar, bring a pizza, share some
laughs, and support the library.
